I grew up thinking…

I grew up thinking that the world was a happy place,

Nobody told me they  differentiated among the race.

I grew up thinking that everybody who smiles is nice,

But I learnt my lessons by paying the price.

I grew up thinking that love always wins,

But there  are people out there ready to clip your wings.

I grew up thinking that friends are meant to be hugged,

But today , one of them might get you drugged.

I grew up thinking that all religions are meant to be embraced ,

But the world sometimes treat other religions as waste .

I grew up thinking that it will be fun,

Now I wish, someone could return ….( my childhood)🖤
